In study groups of four to five, participants discuss current course contents and apply concepts and tools in practically oriented projects. Group success critically depends on group members working as a team and not as individuals. Participants therefore learn to function in teams, developing a deep sense of team spirit. By selecting participants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and nationalities, we make every effort to ensure a diversity of skills and experiences. To achieve the highest team potential, course instructors provide regular feedback on team and individual progress. The program is taught by senior members of the WHU faculty and, in the program’s international module, by the faculty of hosting partner universities. The teaching faculty has an outstanding research record as well as solid experience in management practice. Lectures by senior executives of successful international companies complement the program to include the industry perspective on effective international management.

The career service department organizes recruiting events for more than 60 companies on campus every year. Company presentations, career days, career markets and informal dinner conversations all contribute to successful networking. A resume book with the resumes of our graduating MBA students is published every year and is sent out to more than 130 selected international companies. Companies then contact candidates whom they would like to meet.

Within the General Management MBA Program, students may deepen their knowledge in the fields of Marketing & Sales Advanced Finance & AccountingStrategy & OrganizationOperations, Innovation & EntrepreneurshipLeadership & Personal Development During the concentrations module, students have to choose 9 courses out of the 25 concentration courses offered. Participants may choose to stick to the General Management-Track by selecting courses from all fields. If a student selects at least 3 courses from one field, this concentration will be shown on the final certificate (transcript). The Leadership Part in the concentrations module is mandatory for all students. This includes classes and a company project focusing on Leadership and Personal Development. Besides our WHU faculty members and lecturers from our partner universities, expert business managers will relate to the leadership subject based on their own professional experience. The International Management Module exposes the participants to the challenge of international management. During the international modules the participants learn about business opportunities and management challenges in North America, China and India. The study tours are hosted by renowened partners in the respective region. The program consists of lectures delivered by senior faculty members of our partner universities, company visists and a group project. he Leadership Part in the concentrations module is mandatory for all students.
